Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Chardonnay 2015
Wine EnthusiastA pretty ribbon of gardenia opens the nose of this rich, concentrated wine, creamy in texture with a viscosity of vanilla and oak. The richness continues in deep caramel notes, as baked pear provides fruit and nuance.
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Chardonnay is partially barrel-fermented and aged sur lie, but only about 15% new French oak is used. This wine is elegant, with good acidity and notes of baked apple pie intermixed with some white peach and pineapple in a crisp, medium to full-bodied style. Given its acid and concentration, this wine should age nicely for 7-8 years, possibly longer.
Wine SpectatorZesty notes of tangerine, nectarine and blood orange impart vitality and drive, offering depth, complexity and persistence. Drink now through 2020. 6,590 cases made.
