Château-d'Arcins Haut Medoc 2014
Wine AdvocateThe 2014 d'Arcins has adequate blackberry and briary scents on the nose, hints of tobacco and cigar box coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, classic in style with good substance, well judged acidity and firm but unimposing backbone on the finish. This is a very fine Haut Médoc. Tasted September 2016.
Wine EnthusiastOwned by the Castel family, this chateau regularly produces attractive wines. This year, the wine is rich and still with its layers of dominant wood flavors. It also has a fine structure that will allow it to age. The finish brings in bright, juicy acidity. Drink from 2020.
Wine SpectatorThis delivers a direct beam of bitter cherry, plum and singed cedar notes backed by light sanguine and herb accents. Drink now. 50,000 cases made.
